Alpha Wire INDUSTRIAL SERIES - SERIES F
HIGH PERFORMANCE,
FLEXIBLE AUTOMOTIVE Control Cable

ENGINEERING SPECIFICATION

Cable shall be Alpha Wire Company Alpha Wire INDUSTRIAL SERIES - SERIES F High Performance, Flexible Automotive Control Cable. Manufactured from finely stranded bare copper conductors in accordance with ASTM B-3, conductors shall be insulated with a premium grade of polyvinylchloride/nylon, which meets the flame test requirements of UL VW-1. Conductor insulation shall comply with UL Standard 62, Type TFFN, THHN Oil Res. I & II as well as CSA AWM I/II A/B FT4. Red insulated conductors shall be numbered with black print for AC circuits operating at less than line voltage. Blue insulated conductors shall be numbered with white print for DC circuits operating at less than line voltage. Black insulated conductors shall be numbered with white print for AC circuits operating at less than line voltage. One green/yellow insulated grounding conductor and one neutral conductor shall be included and be found in the outermost layer of the core. The neutral conductor shall be insulated with a white compound and red stripe for cores with red insulated conductors or a blue stripe for cores with blue insulated conductors and a white/black stripe for black core cable designs.

Jackets shall be of a specially formulated, oil resistant thermoplastic elastomer complying with the Standards of UL and CSA as well as be compliant with the requirements of CE-LVD.

Completed cables shall be in compliance with the following certifying agencies standards:

  • UL Standard 1277, Type TC-ER - 600 Volt
  • UL Standard 13, Type PLTC - 300 Volt, Open Wire
  • UL Standard 13, Open Wire
  • UL Standard 13, Sunlight Resistant
  • UL Standard 62, Type TFFN, THHN Oil Res. I/II
  • CSA AWM I/II A/B 600 Volt FT-4
  • CE - Low Voltage Directive 73/68/EEC Amendment 93/68/EEC
