Wire's primary
insulation processes provide a broad range of capabilities in the extrusion
of Thermoplastic
materials over primary conductors. Primary core sizes from 4/0 through 30
AWG are produced utilizing state of the art Digital
process control technology. Insulation options include standard single pass
polyester, PVC, polyethylene, polypropylene and a wide range of Thermoplastic
Elastomers
(TPE). Dual extrusion processing of constructions utilizing PVC/nylon
or applicable materials is also available. |
As
with primary extrusion, Alpha Wire can claim the latest in finished jacketing
extrusion technology. Construction diameters from less than 0.100"
up to 1.5" are manufactured utilizing state of the art Digital control
technology. The latest raw material handling, drying and colorization equipment
are used to reduce set up time and enhance product quality. Digital loop
control ensures process specifications are met with 100% accuracy and repeatability.
All Thermoplastic-jacketing compounds can be extruded per UL, (C) UL and
CSA standards. |

Alpha
Wire's cabling capability is state of the art. From the latest in planetary
cabling technology to the most current neutralization payoff and take
up techniques, Alpha has the processing capability to build the most
complex constructions.

Wire's employs the Belden Automated Equipment Process Control (AEPC)
standard on all extruders in its manufacturing facility. The AEPC version
3.0 controller is a scalable system that can monitor multiple I/O locations.
Process parameters ranging from barrel and screw temperature through
finished cable outside diameter are measured continuously. This data
is Digitally
linked and statistical process control (SPC) techniques
are employed to match the data with the individual process order. Quality
control traceability is thus ensured at all steps in the process, for
all products.
The Alpha Information Management System (AIMS) employs the BPCS shop
floor control module for the process planning, production scheduling
and shop floor tracking. From the moment an order is placed, either
directly or through the company wide MRP system, Alpha's materials management
and manufacturing systems are employed to ensure the product is produced
on time, according to specification and with the highest quality possible.

Wire's employs all of the standard shielding techniques including wrapped
or inline foil shield (aluminum/polyester), tinned copper braid, spiral
or serve wrapped tinned copper or the SUPRASHIELD®
triple laminate foil shield with drain and a 70% coverage tinned braid combination. |
